I'm sorry you are having a difficult time dealing with this subject.
It has been said many times over, but here it goes again. People are more interested in wildly fantastically absurd ideas, then deal with any amount of truth.
Show someone a graph with technical data, conclusions based on scientific information, etc, and then show the same person something without any evidence whatsoever. As long as the second thing being shown is more wild, more crazy, more out there so to speak, and they will flock to the wilder idea.
It has something to do with people not liking concrete data. I think it has a lot to do with the reader's ability to fill in the blanks with wildly absurd ideas which allows them to feel a connection, to feel that it must be right. As opposed to fact, where there is very little wiggle room within a straight strong set of evidence and information. Abstract is more easily understood by lay-people than anything concrete.
It's unfortunate, but hopefully you will be able to start up again. Here's hoping. |
